Daily dealings at the Walt Disney Company have become a favorite item to track for the company's legion of fans. To help keep track of Mouse House events past, present and future, many Disney fans have a cache of bloggers, podcasters and other content creators they follow when they're able to get online.
But what goes into being one of those creators? What motivates someone to devote their (often scantily paid) time to discussing a billion-dollar conglomerate?
As it turns out, quite a lot. It All Started with a Blog details the trials and tribulations of the Disney content-creation community, tracking its history from AOL discussion boards to a literal migration of Mickey-lovers to Florida and California to devote their livelihoods to the company. It also talks about how these creators keep content fresh, how they built their operations and how they deal with followers and their opinions — their usually strong, often loud opinions.
They dreamed it, and they did it. And perhaps these creators can provide that one little spark for the next great site or show.
