Magical Tips

We have Frozen fever. Where can I find everything Frozen at Disney World?

My son loves Aladdin, where can we meet him?

Ariel is my favorite princess, can I see everything Little Mermaid in one day?

Do any of these questions—or a version of them—sound familiar? If yes, you’re reading the right guide.

Whenever people ask me to help them with planning their Disney World vacation, the most common questions I get are: 1. Should I stay on property? 2. Where should I eat? And 3. How do I find Olaf, Princess and the Frog, Ariel, [insert your favorite movie or character’s name]? That’s what this book is about.

A Character Meet & Greet should be on your list, of course, and will be in this guide. Also in this guide are many other magical experiences to add to your list of ways to see your favorite story come alive. When you are at Disney parks, you get to go inside the stories—from rides and restaurants that feel like you are in the movie, to resorts with movie-themed rooms, to the hidden magic the Imagineers have sprinkled in everything from candy apples to wallpaper.

Character Meet & Greets are fun. There are hugs, autographs, and stories of evil stepmothers and sea witches. But there is so much more. How about singing along with your favorite character in a show? Or seeing a statue of them that is so big you can climb on it? Or eating a suspicious looking apple in an enchanted forest with dwarfs? This guide will tell you everywhere to experience the movies and characters you love including:

    Character Meet & Greets
  • Attractions
  • Shows
  • Special events and festivals
  • Resorts (Yep! There are movie-inspired hotel rooms.)
  • Shops
  • Dining and so much more!

My hope is this book will be like having a personal tour guide take you around Walt Disney World and help you see your favorite Disney stories come alive.

Trisha Daab

Trisha Daab is an author, mom/not-so-evil stepmom, and food lover. She is the author of multiple books about Disney World: Tasting the Magic from A-Z: The Best Food and Beverages at Walt Disney World; The Not-So-Evil Stepmother in the Most Magical Place on Earth: Planning Your Walt Disney World Family Vacation; and a series of guides called The Story Comes Alive that help people experience their favorite Disney movies and characters, often in unexpected ways, at Walt Disney World.

Trisha has been visiting Disney since the 1980s, when she took first trip at 3 years old. (We won’t talk about the VERY embarrassing picture of Trisha, in all of her coke-bottle- glasses-and-90’s-hair glory, posing with Chewbacca, the only character whose hair could compete.)

Writing books about Disney World has been the perfect excuse to visit the parks more frequently, eat a lot of Disney food, and get new pictures with Chewy.

According to her sons and husband, she takes altogether too many pictures at Disney.

We're always in the market for new authors with great ideas. Or great authors with new ideas. Whichever type of author you are, we'd be happy to discuss your book. Before you contact us, however, please make sure you can answer "yes" to these threshold questions:

Is It Right for Us?

We specialize in books that have some connection to Disney or theme parks. Disney, of course, has become a broad topic, and encompasses not just theme parks and films but comic books, animation, and a big chunk of pop culture. Your book should fit into one (or more) of those broad categories.

Is It Going to Make Money?

There's never a guarantee that any book will make money, but certain types of books are less likely to do so than others. They include: hardcovers, books with color photos, and books that go on forever ("forever" as in 400+ pages). We won't automatically turn down these types of books, but you'll have to be a really good salesman to convince us.

Are You Great to Work With?

Writing books and publishing books should be fun. The last thing you want, and the last thing we want, is a contentious relationship. We work with authors who share our philosophy of no drama and zero attitude, and the desire for a respectful, realistic, mutually beneficial partnership.
