The idea, or more importantly the inspiration behind, Disney He Said ~ She Said came to us during a family vacation to Disneyland in 2014. As we drove from Arizona, the first leg of our vacation, to California, with our three children safely nestled in the back seat of the car, it became clear to us that we needed an activity which would make the journey just a little more enjoyable.

Any parent knows this and the struggles we take to keep young children occupied and from asking the age old question… “Are we there yet?”

Fortunately, we turned to Disney for that much-needed help and what emerged was the basis of this book. As we journeyed across the states to reach our final destination, we would quiz the children by repeating, as best we could, a quote from a Disney full-length animated feature, then asking them to identify the character who said the phrase. Interestingly, the character Olaf seemed to become the primary character of reference. Of course, any fan of the Disney full-length animated feature Frozen would be the first to admit that Olaf offers the viewer some great and memorable lines.

From then on we realized this game we were playing with our children would and could make the perfect book and travel companion.

Disney He Said ~ She Said is a lasting tribute to the great collection of Disney full-length animated features we all have enjoyed over the years, beginning with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs through the current collection of Disney animated classics and those from the Pixar library of films.

We tried to keep the book pure by focusing on the original Disney full-length animated features and absent from any reference to Disney live-action films. Yet, it was hard to resist a reference or two from everyone’s favorite pirate, Captain Jack Sparrow!

And for those counting, you will discover the book contains a total of 500 questions. We feel this is a fitting tribute to the Disney corporate offices in Burbank, California, and the home to the Disney Animation Studios … namely, 500 Buena Vista Street.

With that said, we hope you enjoy Disneys He Said ~ She Said as much as we did in putting it together. We would also like to sincerely thank our oldest daughter, Emma, whose dedication and assistance has made this book possible.

Disney He Said ~ She Said represents Kevin and Susan Neary’s third Disney-themed book together. They are very excited with this most recent addition. The couple are in the process of developing other books, both Disney and non-Disney-themed.

Kevin has also written three baseball-inspired books as well as co-authored four Disney books with former Disney archivist Dave Smith.

What's a Disney hero without a Disney sidekick? You'll never hear a hero say so, but deep down they know that without their sidekick, the ride ahead would be mighty rough.

We're always in the market for new authors with great ideas. Or great authors with new ideas. Whichever type of author you are, we'd be happy to discuss your book. Before you contact us, however, please make sure you can answer "yes" to these threshold questions:

Is It Right for Us?

We specialize in books that have some connection to Disney or theme parks. Disney, of course, has become a broad topic, and encompasses not just theme parks and films but comic books, animation, and a big chunk of pop culture. Your book should fit into one (or more) of those broad categories.

Is It Going to Make Money?

There's never a guarantee that any book will make money, but certain types of books are less likely to do so than others. They include: hardcovers, books with color photos, and books that go on forever ("forever" as in 400+ pages). We won't automatically turn down these types of books, but you'll have to be a really good salesman to convince us.

Are You Great to Work With?

Writing books and publishing books should be fun. The last thing you want, and the last thing we want, is a contentious relationship. We work with authors who share our philosophy of no drama and zero attitude, and the desire for a respectful, realistic, mutually beneficial partnership.
